		Chanderi is one of the best places for weekend getaways near Gwalior. It is a town of historical importance & has played an important role in the mythical, religious, political, and glorious history of North India. There are number of historical landmarks, dating from the 11th century to medieval periods of the 13th to the 18th centuries and modern times. Besides, the town is also blessed with incredible natural beauty.
It is surrounded by beautiful hills, lakes and forests, offering numerous eye-catching views. Location: This historic town is located in Ashoknagar District of Madhya Pradesh at a distance of 239km from Gwalior. Tourist Attractions: The main Tourist attractions in this historic town are Chanderi Fort - Dating back to the Mughal Period, Chanderi Fort is located on top of a hill. It is considered the most important tourist attraction of Chanderi town. Koshak Mahal - Built in 1445 A.D. by Mahmud Khilji of Malwa, the Koshak Mahal is divided into four equal parts with amazing architectural skills. Buddhi (Old) Chanderi: Referred to as Buddhi, the old Chanderi city is chiefly visited by a large number of Jains, as there are many Jain temples located in the town  that belong to the 9th and 10th century. Parameshwar Tal - Located on the bank, Parameshwar Tal is a tank built by the Bundela Rajput kings. This tank site has a beautiful temple and the cenotaphs of three Rajput kings. How to Reach: You can easily reach Chanderi by Road, as this town is well connected to Gwalior with regular bus services. Accommodation: Hotel Tana Bana is the only fine lodging option in the town, for more you may need to go little far.
